The new national FINACCESS study is starting in Finland, with the goal of improving the accessibility of new cancer medicines to Finnish patients.
Coordinated by HUS, the new FINACCESS study aims to improve access of new cancer drugs to patients, as well as produce valuable information on the effectiveness and safety of treatments.
The medicines used in the study are far-developed, but are not yet available in Europe. The study combines treatment and data collection, which supports future decision-making and the adoption of new treatments.
The first study treatment will focus on the non-small-cell lung cancer related to the HER-2 genetic mutation. In upcoming years, the study will broaden to several cancer types and support the national research program for personalized cancer medicine.
